Alumni Ambassador Program
As VIU Alumni you have a valuable perspective on the VIU experience. Why not share your perspective as an Alumni Ambassador? VIU Alumni Ambassadors take part in VIU events, representing alumni. Ambassadors have ongoing contact with the network of VIU alumni and other VIU contacts. They can be invited to speak in classes or as part of other events. They talk to students and help connect VIU to the community.
Alumni Association
The VIU Alumni Association is made up of past VIU students like you. They work with Alumni Relations staff to fostering connections and support alumni activities.
Planting hope to make a brighter, greener future
Since 2023, the VIU Alumni Association, together with TD Insurance, has partnered with Tree Canada’s National Greening program to plant and maintain tree seedlings in honour of our graduating students.
The first 4000 trees were planted in the Williams Lake region in 2023 in an area that had been damaged by a major forest fire.
Together, we are helping to remove carbon from the atmosphere and contributing to a cleaner future in our province. We are proud to be the only BC post-secondary institution to partner with Tree Canada to help build a cleaner tomorrow.
These saplings are a perfect symbol of VIU alumni. As you grow into the next phase of your life, your tree will grow along with you. Just as a tree plants its roots deep into the earth - you will maintain a connection to VIU, drawing nourishment from your foundational experiences.
The branches, reaching outward and upward, symbolize the diverse paths you take after graduation, spreading your influence and achievements far and wide. Yet, no matter how far a tree’s branches extend, it remains connected to the same sturdy trunk and roots, just as you will remain tied to VIU.

When you were a student at VIU, you benefited from the generosity of donors. Maybe you received a scholarship or bursary. Or you studied inside a donor-supported building. Why not give back to future generations of students? You choose where your donation goes.
